Faithfulness was my gut reaction pick. Interestingly, not for my usual reasons though. This time, my reaction was out of the deep desire to respond always in faith because He was first faithful. My faithfulness is never a new revelation, rather a posture of thanks because I have been deeply loved and blessed for as long as I can remember, and continue to be. Like you just had the most perfectly portioned meal of delicious food, or took in the most refreshing gulp of icy, brisk air that filled up all your senses. That’s a kingdom feeling. That’s what it’s like coming freely to God to spend quality time with him. That’s how He feels receiving us. We had 30 minutes to observe nature and ID something we saw about God’s character in it. I painted the sky and ocean playing off of one another. Both giant forces of nature, but neither actually work alone. They show each other off– the sky illuminating the waves, the water reflecting the lovely blue that the sky is that day. In Genesis 1 the sky was literally formed for the seas. I was tasked this week with making a thank you card for our guest speaker. This image came to me about mid-week during one of his talks. The meaning behind it being two-fold: 1. Co-creation displayed at it’s finest can be seen in the partnership between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (hence the triangle) 2. For artists, the primary colors are essential. I have a feeling primary red, blue, and yellow were created somewhere around Day 2 or 3 because the essence of these colors is that they cannot be created by anyone, but together they can make all the other colors that exist in the world, and more. How thoughtful was God that He so carefully crafted these three colors that hold so much power and creation DNA in themselves?!
